Actions Taken Against In-Game RMT & Other Illicit Activities (Jan. 18). RMT and other illicit activities upset the balance of the game and, as such, are prohibited under the Terms of Service.
Because FFXIV has confirmed the existence of players who are engaging in these illicit activities, FFXIV has taken the actions listed below.
Time Period: Jan. 11, 2018 to Jan. 17, 2018
- Participation in RMT/illicit activity
Accounts receiving permanent ban: 2,492
Accounts receiving temporary ban: 68
RMT Advertising
- Accounts receiving permanent ban: 1,744
Players who uncover any confirmed cheats should, under no circumstances, exploit or disseminate such info. Alternatively, we ask that players file a report by using the in-game command [System Menu] -> [Support Desk] -> [Contact Us] -> [Report Cheating].
Furthermore, any witnessed RMT advertisement could be reported by right-clicking the character name inside the chat log and deciding on the menu [Report] -> [Report RMT Activity].
The report is going to be processed automatically, and if determined to fall below RMT advertising, the reported character's comments are going to be restricted.
We are going to continue to take stringent disciplinary action against any accounts with confirmed involvement in RMT/illicit activity; players should take care to steer clear of any activity that violates the Terms of Service.
