It's been a busy week in Fortnite capped off by players discovering the fate of your Ice Sphere inside the sky. As part of the next week, Epic Games has released the patch notes for update 7.20 and it has some surprising news for Battle Royale players. Although fans got a heads up about the Quad Launcher becoming vaulted this week, it turns out that Epic Games placed a couple of a lot more things inside the vault also.
As detailed within the newest weekly update post on the Epic Games site, Fortnite is losing three products from Battle Royale for the foreseeable future. Additionally, towards the strong Quad Launcher, the Port-A-Fortress and Grappler things have also been thrown into the vault. However, for fans, the post didn’t deliver any factors as to why those things had been chosen or if either of them will be making a return sooner or later.
Port-A-Fortress was introduced in September of last year and though the item resembles the Port-A-Fort, it was additional substantial, immediately generating a huge castle structure with lots of jump pads for allies to use. Now, the Fortress joins the Fort inside on the vault.
On the other hand, the neighborhood appears split around the Grappler, an item that drastically elevated mobility by pulling players in any direction inside a particular proximity. While a lot of are furious the item is now gone, it might be as a result of a potential exploit that a member of FaZe Clan discovered just a few days ago. Either way, many are expecting some kind of new item to enhance player mobility and replace the Grappler.
Earlier this week, the long-rumored Ice Event lastly kicked off after the Ice King appeared and cast a spell more than the entire island. Now, the map is completely covered in snow, fog, and ice with zombie creatures lurking everywhere at the same time. Naturally, this new event also has unique challenges tied to it such as dealing with the new Ice Fiends around the map. Similar towards the cube monsters from last year, these creatures can be located all about the map and killing them provides the player with much better loot and gear than normal. Remember that they are able to be a handful when also coping with nearby enemy players so make certain the coast is clear just before engaging with them.
