The Golden State Warrior's threaded a trade for a star on the day of the draft. If it goes according to owner Joe Lacob, there will be nothing for sure.
In an interview with Anthony Slater of the Athletic, Lacob assumed that it was "very unlikely" that the dolls are still troad for a star. "We will not make a trade just because people expect. It is very unlikely," Lacob continued.
Instead, the Warriors want to create the balancing that they play on the one hand around the title and, on the other hand, develop their own young players in the squad. In the previous year, the Warriors Center James Wiseman at position two, in this draft, Golden State snapped on with the seventh and 14. Pick in Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody two talented wingers.
In the run-up to the draft, much had been speculated above whether Golden State should not exchange the picks in a package with one or the other player for a star. There were reports that Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green had asked the management to trade for another star.
Golden State Warriors want to develop young players
As candidates, Ben Simmons (Philadelphia 76ers), Bradley Beal (Washington Wizards) and Pascal Siakam (Toronto Raptors) were traded, but nothing happened.
Instead, the young players should be introduced. "We have good players who are just over 30 years old and have a few good years before," Lacob was. "Wiseman, Kuminga, Moody or even [Jordan] Poole, you do not have to start completely next year. But we have invested a lot in our coaching staff and now want to show you great potential."

The young players are also favorable at the same time, while the quartet from Curry, Green, Thompson and Andrew Wiggins collapsed at $ 139 million alone. Already now the Warriors are deep in the luxury tax with almost 170 million dollars on salaries.
